The film is based on a book with the same name by Carol Shields. Please check it out if you're the type that needs to read books before seeing movies based on original works.
This film is not rated. However, given my own film-viewing experience, I would rate "Republic of Love" as earning an R.
Viewing by the Honors Student Group constitues a private screening.
